The game in one line
A free browser idle incremental game about mining bitcoin, from a single hash to an interstellar computing empire.
Short blurb · ~50 words
Satoshi.game is a free, browser-based idle and incremental game that starts with one machine on 3 January 2009 and grows into an interstellar computing empire. Split your compute between mining bitcoin, leasing cloud cycles and running research — while power costs money and heat throttles everything.
Long blurb · ~150 words
Satoshi.game is a free, browser-based idle and incremental game about the machinery behind bitcoin. You click to compute your first hash, mine your first block by hand, and buy a CPU — then spend the rest of the game deciding what that compute is for. A slider splits every FLOP between mining bitcoin, leasing cloud cycles for cash, and running research, and the whole economy hangs off that one choice.
Three forces push back the entire way: compute, power and heat. Rigs draw electricity, electricity costs cash, and the heat it makes throttles the compute you bought it for — so cooling, the grid and the tech tree become the real game. Halvings arrive on schedule, the 21-million cap is real, and prestige “soft forks” reset the chain for permanent bonuses. It keeps mining while you are away.

What makes it different
- Compute is a budget, not a number that goes up. Every FLOP you own is allocated by hand between bitcoin, cash and research, so progress is a standing trade-off rather than a purchase.
- Power and heat fight back. Hardware draws electricity, electricity makes heat, and heat throttles the hardware — the middle game is a thermal problem, not a shopping list.
- The bitcoin parts are the real ones. Halvings, rising difficulty, the 21-million cap, and a HODL bonus for not selling.
- It goes further than it looks. ASICs give way to server racks, then a grid, then launches, satellites, quantum computing and AI era.
- The simulation is exact and deterministic. All arithmetic runs through arbitrary-precision math, and the same actions replayed produce the same state — the server can re-run a save to check it.

The decision the whole game runs on: every FLOP goes to mining, cash or research, and never to all three at once. -
Power costs cash and makes heat; heat throttles the hardware it came from. The middle game is a cooling problem. -
Late game: launches, satellite swarms and compute in orbit. -
A soft fork resets the chain and keeps the bonuses — the prestige loop.
Streaming and video
Recording, streaming and monetising videos of the game is welcome, with no permission needed and no revenue share. If you post something, the Discord is the fastest way to reach the developer — questions about mechanics usually get answered within the hour.
